Over flow filter help

The water level is really high because I put in some rocks in the tank. I will put plants in the empty part of the tank. I have bio balls bio rocks and just regular aquarium rocks and sand with some pond filters. And I will empty some of the water so it flows right

    Just be careful about the rocks you use.
    Any rocks containing Calcium will raise the Ph of the water

    Usually just some porous rock. Some are colored red or dark brown with lots of holes in them. Be careful some have high sulfur content (usually obvious by the yellow color).
