Oval Pattern On Snail?

I just got my Betta a Black Nerite snail and I noticed It has odd ovals on it. Any clue what these are?

 

I'm no expert but from what I read snails will lay eggs on each other. If you just got him perhaps they were scraped off. Maybe someone else will chime in.

literally the only reason I won't get a snail.... i'm afraid they will bring friends.

Nerites can't reproduce in fresh water. Mystery snails can but they lay large egg clutches outside of the water and if you don't want more you can remove and dispose of them.

The ones that go crazy are pond, ramshorn, and MTS snails.
