outside fishtank

ok I live in florida where the tempertures in teh winter rarely get below 30 and in the summer up to 100 if I had a tank uptside (55 gal) would it be ok I was planning maybe some danios and gouramis maybe barbs. if I got an appropriately rated heator should that take care of it in the winter? what would cool it down in the summer?

 

For the Summer to cool it down you could put ice in but that can be a tricky procedure. You could also get an aquarium cooler but that is super expensive. A strong fan blowing across the surface would also help. You would need a strong heater for winter. Summer is going to be your biggest problem.

You've already tagged the biggest issue you're going to run into; temperature. The problem is that 55 gallon isn't all that much water, and the temp is going to fluctuate rapidly.
The danios might do ok with the fluctuations, but I don't know about the others.
I would suggest arranging the tank so that it is in the shade most, if not all, day long. It will still get plenty of indirect sunlight unless it's hidden under a bunch of pine trees or something. This will minimize the hourly differences as the sun heats the tank up.
As far as cooling the tank off, your options are to go really expensive or have to replace water frequently by having a fan blow across the tank, as beeboy suggested.

My suggestion for this tank would be to go with really temperature hardy fish like goldfish. I'm sure there are others out there, probably something in the minnow family would be good.

 

my parents said I can't bring it home so I'm going to set it up at my girlfriends place lol so its looking like it will be inside after al but I'm going to need to invest in a nice hood because they have cats haha but none of them are water friendly except one who is aqua kitty and likes to go in the pool but inside it shall be tee hee

 

To bad you can't take it to your parents home, but at least you found a place for it. You could have put some of the local aquatic wild life that doesn't grow too big and watch them grow really big. You could buy a lobster and make it a nice big home for wildlife in your area. That would be really cool IMO.
