Our Tank List

We have four tanks, two in use and two to set up. Not a lot of fish yet, but we're getting there.

10 gal
10-11 Iodotropheus sprengerae fry (fast little buggers-they?re hard to count)

29 gal (Cichlid tank)
4 ? Iodotropheus sprengerae (rusty)
2 ? Altolamprologus compressiceps

55 gal
Just about to get this up and running. We are transferring our cichlids from the 29 gal to this tank and then adding a few more cichlids. We haven?t decided what to add yet, so many choices. We?re putting our fry in the 29 gal so our 10 gal will be empty for a hospital tank.

29 gal Hex
This is my new tank that I am setting up. I?m thinking about just having some easy to care for fish in this one. I want to have quite a few smaller colorful fish in there, but I?m not sure what to put in it. Any suggestions?

I'd go for a molly/gourami/oto mix. (But everyone here knows that I am biased... lol that's what I have!)

welcome to fishlore! tetras or angels could be good for the 29 gallon hex.

Welcome to Fishlore!

Angels would be my first choice too. They will get on well in the tall tank and look splendid! You could have 4 in there comfortably and maybe a bristlenose to help keep the tank clean.

if you want some serious colour in small fish some are neon tetras,(only in 5 or more) guppies are great for colour. angels are also great but a lil larger and more aggressive.
if it were me id go black mollies about 3-5 then some neons about 5 then also a couple of guppies. with mayb a nice clourful catfish of some kind on the bottom
hope this helps
cheers,
Bryn

Wow! Thanks for the suggestions.

I'm still not sure. There are so many wonderful options.

I'm still working on getting tank set up. I have been refinishing the stand and making sure I have all of the pieces and parts. Once I get it all set up and add some fish, I will let everyone know.

Thanks again!

YEAH! I got my third tank up and running! While I was cleaning it out, I noticed that I got a couple of filters with it. I have an undergravel filter and a 110 Penguin. Not too shabby for a free tank.

We set it up with some gravel, a few silk plants (I still need to add some more), and I bought four small angels. Two black angels, one marble, and one that's white with a little gold in it's fins and face.

They look great and my cats are loving it.
