Otos mating?

Here's one of the latest shots of the happy family sharing a slice of zucchini. Mom's closest to the glass, dad and fry are sharing the inside-side of the veg.

Second picture shows the algae farm.

 

Does the algae farm work well, 'Dillo? How many days (usually) do you have to leave it to get algae?

And what a cute fry!

 

Yeah, that fry is seriously cute. We only have two left, out of the 4? we started with. But they're looking better and better shaped so I think we'll be OK (fingers crossed).

The algae farm worked great (within 3 days or so) when I'd seeded it by rinsing a used filter in it. But I got wary of adding cr*p to my oto tank as it was really disgusting water. Now that I'm starting with clear water and not seeding it, it seems to be taking ages.

 

yea, really cute pic. we have a ton of algae growing on the cycled 30 gallon tall on the back porch.. gotta bring that in sometime & clean it up. come on over & take all that you want. :;a

I'll bet you that even if I was crazy enough to take a plane to the US just to get some algae for my otos, customs would have a thing or two to say about it.

You're not far off the truth.

Sometimes I walk through a park and my mind wonders and I think: Oooooh, look at all this green. These lucky people sure have a lot of algae. And then I realise that, once again, am juuuust looking at grass (again!).

Wow! That's AWESOME. I on the other hand dreamt that we were being attacked by snakes.

just tell them that it's drugs, give them their share and be on your way.
