Please use this topic to post your Otocinclus photos. I'll leave it stickied so it appears at the top of the posts. Only your own photos please, not taken from the internet.

Thanks,
Mike

While your compliments on the photos are really appreciated, text-only posts will be removed after a while to keep the gallery pictures-only. If there is a discussion you do not want to loose, please start it again in a separate thread.

Thanks,

Since oto fry are relatively rare, here's a little wriggler for ya. Sorry I'm no pro photographer.

I was able to snap this one today. Proud papa, and little baby. I see 3-5 of these guys a day, in various stages of life, this is one of the larger ones. It's frightening how quickly they disappear they swim away, who knows how many are actually in the tank.

Here's a picture of my "oops baby". I wasn't aware that otos would spawn in aquariums, I was actually on my way to buy a few more! Instead I decided to cycle a new otos-only tank and see if I can get more babies.

Not sctrictly Otos as such, although they were sold as "Giant Otos," Otocinclus gigantes! You might struggle to find info on such a species

These two guys of mine (now wish I had decided on them a few weeks aerlier and so would have got more than the last couple) reach ~7cm and are Hypoptopoma inexspectatum (no common name). They have a unique line that runs along the side of their snout to along where their mouth is. Males have a thick "hook" dorsal fin ray, whereas females do not, I appear to have one of each...

My Oto!

Heres my oto.

Poor thing lost all his buddies and I haven't had time to get him more.

My guys love hanging out on the flipper, there’s tons of places to hide but they seem to gravitate to it no matter where in the tank I leave it :)

I felt lucky to capture these pics! My otos rarely stay still when they’re on the wood and I’m moving outside their tank.

The first shot is of an otto. When I processed the shot there was the ghost of Fishmass past there. This photo has not been altered in any way.
