    Hello,
I'm a new fishkeeper w/ a 40 gal tank. We have 6 glofish added in November and 2 weeks ago I added 3 Otocinclus. 1 died the first night. Now one has a white area about 1/2 the size of a thumbtack on his back behind his head. What is this and what can I do to treat it. I do not have a separate quarantine tank.
    Thanks for your help,
    Virginia

    hey, welcome to fishlore!

Sounds like it could be either fungal or bacterial, this link ( ) gets pretty in depth on both types of infections as well as treatment for each. Pictures would be helpful on top of all the info youve posted to help diagnose your otto, and by the way thanks for being so thorough with all of the tank info, it definitely helps rule out a few things.
