Oto White Spot?

What is this white spot on one of my Otos? It doesn’t appear to be fuzzy, he’s acting normal and eating just fine. For the time being I moved him into a spare 10 gallon to see how he does and what the spot does. Do they have scales?
It looks red in the picture but it’s actually white.

Could it be a fighting wound

That was my thought originally seeing as how it doesn’t look like a fungus or anything.

I have some aquarium salt on hand, would that help. Don’t want to put him back into the display tank until I know he’s good.

Yea I am not the salt guy at all.
Has the oto been picked on ?
Most come in to stores near death from starving.
They need bio slime that only an established tank could have . I hope the 10 was set up before now .
If someone attacked it then that may be an injury but I would guess the beginning of some issue is starting to show ?

The 10 gallon is fully established, housed my goldfish fry until he was big enough to transfer into the display tank. When I put him in there is when I noticed the mark on the oto. I’ve used salt to treat ich a few times, wasn’t sure if it can be used to help heal wounds also.
