Other Fish Eating Bottom Feeder Pellets?

Recently I've noticed that, when it comes to feeding the fish, some of them seem to be only taking some of the flakes and instead waiting for the sinking pellets intended for the corys? I sat and watched today and, as soon as the pellets hit the bottom of the tank, my fish all dived for them rather than finishing the flakes. My only worry is that the corys aren't getting enough food, as they don't seem to bother with the pellets and will simply swim by them and continue searching through the sand. None of the flakes reach the bottom of the tank either as my other fish eat them rather quickly.

Could it possibly be that the corys don't like the pellets? I'm currently feeding API bottom feeder shrimp pellets and King British tropical fish flakes, though as I'm going to my LFS tomorrow to pick up some more decorations I can easily buy some different food too.

Thank you!

I found that hiding some pellets behind decorations where my danios couldn’t get to them worked to feed my panda cories. Once I had to take a cory out in a different container to make sure he was eating, which might work for you in a “This guy hasn’t eaten in a week” sort of situation.

Try crushing the pellets into much smaller granules and spread it around the tank. Cories are excellent at foraging and can find the tiniest morsels that other fish can't. I'd also vary their diet more - catfish sticks and frozen/live foods are some of my favorites to feed my cories.

Thank you all for your help! I think they must be eating as they've been in there for at least two months with no problems. I'll try crushing a few and hiding them today to see if it makes a change! I'll pick up some different types of food too so I can change things up a bit.

I have small granual like food and normal flake. I take a pinch put it under the water line still pinched and release the pinch under water the food sinks to the bottom. Catfish, shrimp and even tetras all get a share of the food. The tetras now actually expect to be feeding from the bottom of the tank. I turn the filter off while doing this during feeding time

Everyone gets fed at te same time. Happy days.

With my cories I just make sure to drop in some pellets after the light goes out, the other fish typically lose interest once the pellets hit the substrate as they can't see them as easily.
