oscar vanished

Well guys when I went to feed my fish this morning I noticed that my oscar was missing after looking through the tank I concluded there is abosutely no way he is in the tank I looked everywhere I mean thee enitre room of my basement I mean lifted the couch looked under the stand he is nowhere also the tank is sealed with tape and it was not undisturbed. The only way he could've gotten out would be if he jumped between the filter which is unlikely. My only conclusion is that my clown knife ate him but one there is no skelton second my clown knife readily ate his feeders and didn't look fat. Now if the clown knife did eat him why didn't he also eat the smaller african cichlid that is in there. The thing that kinda makes it worse was the CK and oscar were sold together because they were raised from when they were really small

 

Have you lifted all decor? Looked in the filter? Weird.

 

Do you have any other pets? Dog/cat/etc? How big was the oscar??

 

Looked in filter. I have a dog but she stays upstairs

 

Hope it pops out soon if he's hiding.

 

I lost a 7" JD - couldn't find him. Turns out he was about 100 ft away under the couch as dry & crispy as a potato chip. Look everywhere - when they bail, they can flop away pretty far

Actually md JD about the same size did the same thing this wedsenday. Sad he was the most colorful one I've ever seen but he was extremely shy

 

Oh no, did you find him yet?? How big was the oscar, and how big is the Clown Knife?

its ok I found him last night he was stuck between a large peice of pvc and the back of the tank no idea how he got their but I moved it out so he could swim freely it is now his favorite spot
