Oscar the pleco :D

I have been to preoccupied by my other fish latley, I forgot to put up pics of Oscar my clown(?) Pleco. I can't remember if I said anything on here about it but I picked the little guy out of the trash about a month ago, he was in QT for 2 weeks and then into my 29, great little guy not shy in the least and very funny. He wasn't even shy first day home into the QT tank, he came out and ate like a pig the first night. I feed him algae tablet, zuchinI and other veggies, he has a huge piece of drift wood and a rock pile, he also picks any frozen food the falls to the bottom. He hated having his pic taken in a bowl but I made up for it with food. At only 2" long, Oscar.

If anyone wants to help me with the particular species of Clown thatd be nice. I'm 99.9% sure he is clown and not candy.

Yeah he is a Clown Pleco. I have 9 of them haha. Very cute!

 

I mean some lady threw him in the trash can(in a bag) because he couldnt be refunded in his condition, that's what I mean.

Skiny, finless and pale he was not a good case. But I fixed em up. His tail is still growing out but pther then that hes ok. I like him. I tried some babby carrots with him tonight, I think we have found a favorite food.

 

Can't imagine throwing a live animal in the trash..... so glad you came along and saved this adorable little guy!!

I want to start my raving by saying GREAT SAVE soltarianknight. Only a true fish-keeper would dig in the trash to even try and save a fish. All non fish-keepers would of just walked on by and left the Pleco do die slowly in the trash. I must clarify my definition of fish-keeper verses fish-owners. There are lots of fish-owners out there who don’t really care for their fish they just own them, but a fish-keeper will go above and beyond to keep their fish healthy.

When you adopt any kind of pet you also agree to take on the responsibility to properly care for it. If you are not willing to do what it takes to keep the pet healthy and happy you shouldn’t get it to start with. I must say I am not a PETA or animal control advocate because they seem to go a bit over board at times, but I personally wish the lady that just tossed the Pleco into the trash would be plagued by them.

I have always had a problem with people who drop off puppies and kittens at the dump or toss them in the trash and this lady is no better than they are. She left a fish in a bag to slowly suffocate to death and it doesn’t sound like she had been caring much for him to start with.

 

That's crazy! How did you know he was in there. Gotta hear this story.

 

She was in line ahead of me a few people, arguing with the managment over the fish, they agreed to take it for free, but not as a refund(understandable, I wouldnt refund her either) and so she walked out and threw him in the trash, one of those *If I can't have it no one can* deals, tis be a shame, I saw it as did a few others, the employee was gonna get it but I told him I had a tank and setup for him at home so he agreed to let me take it.(plus, their plecos were not to pretty either, probably would have taken him tank or not, I know a better store). But now he resides in the 29, soul poseser of the drift wood, Loves to come out and clean the invisible algae off the sides lol. Not a very skiddish pleco I must say, he has no issues with me moving stuff around or even touching him(accident). When I hand him a piece of food, hes on it.

 

What a witch. Really, just wanted money, didn't care about the fish, sad. People never cease to boogle my mind.

 

People are the worst advertisement for........people.
