Oscar Is Pale And Yellow

I am not sure if my Red tiger oscar has velvet or not, may I please have some members advise me why has my oscar been pale and yellow for 2/3 weeks?

Hes not breathing hard or has clamped fines just is pale and yellow. I have not seen my oscar rub up against objects except only very rarely.

All other fish seem to be rubbing up against things though. I currently am treating them with seachem paragaurd and have raised the tank temp to 87.
Tank size is 125g 72"X18"X23" tall.

There should be pictures included any advice helps thanks!

Is the temp for the meds? That's REALLY high to keep an Oscar at. Ideally you want 76/77. I don't see anything in those pics, but theyre not the greatest either. Her mouth looks odd, but it could be the pic.

The temp is only high because I read somewhere velvet is similar ich and it can help speed up the life cycle of the parasite during treatment. I normally keep the tank at 80. Also yes her mouth is crooked I'm not sure why. I'll try and get some better pictures..trying to take them from.my s9 so please bear with me..

I don't see Ich or Velvet from those pics, so Id bring the temp down for sure. If you're keeping her at 80 regularly, you might want to dial it back a bit as that's pretty warm for Oscars.

Ok thanks for the advice, I was just worried because he was much more black and red in the LFS I got him from. He has been like that for a few weeks now and I read somewhere velvet does kill fish fast so maybe it's not that I just can't explain the discoloration when he was a much deeper black and red. I'm going to continue to treat with paragaurd over the next few days just in case. I'm also gonna bring the temp back down but he does not seem to care at all as for he likes to still hide and rest in his hiding spot which is right next to the heater regardless if its on. I just hope he is okay. He is a new fish to the tank.

Probably just trying to blend in against the white substrate.
