Diet question...
Thanks for the quick reply Shawnie...but I don't know yet. I'm still in the research stage and trying to decide whic fish to populate my 100 gal tank with. As a kid I rescued a pair of nearly full-grown oscars (and an arowana) so I didn't get the experience of seeing them go from small to big.

I have heard that they will grow about an inch per month until they hit about 8 inches and then the growth rate slows down a bit. I have a young oscar though, so what I am saying is from what I have learned from others, not what I have seen myself.

now that I think about it , that's correct...I got my guys at about an inch big...they are now five years old and approx 8-9 inches...(they don't sit still long enough for a ruler)

Yeah, I have tried to do the ruler thing with my fish, but they are so uncooperative! lol!

Oscars grow pretty fast, my tiger is growing 1" per month; they will grow faster if u feed them more protein and keep the water clean.
