Oscar for life?

Okey so I have a 55 gallon with two aqua clear 70s and just brought a fluval c4 and I have an internal filter so obviously I have more than enough filtration. My question is people say 75G is really bare minimum because if it is I can give away the oscar and maybe get 2 Jack Dempseys? Ive always wanted a red devil my teacher is willing to trade but can I house him in the 55 or too small? Thanks

Well oscars can get up to a foot long and are quite aggresive so oscars are not a good option. The jacks are ok but the red devil is not going to work at all

No big cichlid would be good in a 55 gallon IMO is such a narrow tank.

I would go with 1 and a couple other fish as jacks would probably fight. Maybe this..
1 jack
1 royal pleco
3 clown loaches
1 red tail shark
and maybe 3 silver dollars considering they are the ones that only get to 5 in.

also the elctric blue jack dempsys are cooler than normal you should check them out

Blue acaras, convicts, a single jack, and severums if you are feeling ambitious usually work. Not all together though

You do know this is a 55 gallon to be cramming so many fish that will outgrow the tank? That stock is not good at all for a 55g

The Jack and Severum should really be in bigger tank. The other 2 can be work.

3 clown loaches may be a bit much and the silvers are not good either, but 1 jack and royal or bn plecos are fine. Ipersonally wouldnt go with this but it is okay

It just my opinion but jacks don't deserve to be in a 55 gallon all there life now if he can atleast upgrade to 75 gallon now a jack will work.

Well you need a big tank for a big fish you have to work with what you have. A convict is decent sizes.

Fire mouths, acaras, and others could work and are around 6 inch or less
