Oscar fighting death??

Breblu02

Hey there, I’ve had two oscars in my 125g(one is slightly bigger than the other) with two smaller cichlids for about 6 months now. A few weeks ago I have seen the two Oscar fighting, mostly lip locking. That’s lasted about a day. Then about three weeks later it started again but it got worst I was thinking maybe this is breeding behavior but one is beaten up pretty bad. The fins are ripped and the scales are coming off. The beaten up one is laying on its side at the bottom of the tank and not eating while the bigger one still picks at him. I do believe if this behavior continues the smaller one will die. Will this be a good time to euthanize? By the way I don’t have another tank to put him in.

Probably not mating behavior. Likely two males. It's your call whether to euthanize. If the subordinate Oscar is obviously doomed & death is certain, then your choice has been made easier.
