What is a safe paint I can use to repaint an ornament that will be safe on freshwater fish?
I have 4 pea puffers. I just want to make sure whatever I use it will be safe on them.

I would not use any paint myself. Maybe you could get the letters all the same color instead?

There is dishwashers safe Folk art enamal paint. Supposedly, if its food safe, it is also aquarium safe. I have never tried It, even for human use. The only thing I have done was paint on item with ceramic glaze that was then fired in a kiln. That basically turns the glaze to glass, and it is safe unless it is lead based or somthing.

Generally any non toxic water based acrylic paint is fine. I used the dollar store brand with no issues at all.

Thanks for the replies. The ornament itself is sold already painted so they use some kind of paint that won’t harm the fish.
