Ordered 6 striped kuhli loaches today from Trinsfish , So excited

tyguy7760. I have been looking for the striped kuhlis for quite a while with no luck. I had one forty plus years ago. And this is your fault with your cute kuhlI photos and the strong recommendation for Trinsfish. I looked today and she had more in stock. Yipee, she had been out for a while. so I ordered 6. Since you have had such good results with them from her, could you please tell me how you acclimated yours and any tips on their care. I am really looking forward to getting them. How are they packed? I would really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance. Alison

I acclimated hers the old fashioned way. I sat them in the tank for 15 minutes, and then started filling the bag with tank water every few minutes. Once it started getting pretty full I poored about half out and repeated. Then I netted them out and put them in the tank.

As far as care goes, they do wel on my sand substrate so I'm not sure if you have sand or not but if you don't I'd suggest considering it. I feed them a mixture of omega shrimp pellets (they are too big for them but they really like just nibbling on them for a long time) and NLS sinking cichlid pellets. I bought these for my dorsigera but they seem to not like them all that much and the kuhli's get them. They really like hanging in my micro sword and anacharis. Some of the younger ones really enjoy surfing on my marimo moss balls as well. They really appreciate shaded areas and that is where you will find them until feeding time when they swarm the tank.

Thanks for the answer, I have been looking for quiet a while and getting nowhere, bee out on the striped for a while and just got in a new shipment, I figured by the time. I got to you to get a coupon they would be sold out like last time. So I just went for it. Us old folks don't have much in the way of patience. Iam really getting excitied. I didn't even wait for a coupon because I was afraid they would be sold out. They sold out quick last time . Looking forward to getting them. Alison

We just got 6 kuhlI loaches too! My LFS ordered them for us. They are so entertaining already. I look forward to your progress with them!
