Orange laser corys

Can anyone give me any info on them, I am really too lazy to go to planetcatfish and look for them there. I mostly want experience since a store near me just got some in and they still hadn't priced them yet. They are really beautiful cories and if they are a reasonable price, I will get some. I just want to get some info on them first.

Hmm, never heard of them. I'd love to see pics if you do get them, though.

That should help.

The ones we keep are in a community tank with L107 BN, cherry shrimp, corys, crazy betta that flares at snails, brokis splendins. (all in a 55g)

They tend to school in with our regular corys, though if we had more of the regulars they'd probably snub the orange lasers in preference of their own kind.

I went back yesterday and they were like $15 each and didn't feel like spending that kind of money on a fish at this point in the game.

I got mine at aquabid for $8 each. Their care is the same as other corys. there are also green laser corys. The orange and green supposedly come from Peru.

Oh wow! These are seriously cool. Are they already in the Cory photo pix? I like that thread as it's a good opportunity to show the billion cory types there are out there!

That they are, but here they are like $15 each and I don't feel like spending that much on those cute little fish at the moment. I also don't have enough money to buy 3-6 of them.

I got one Orange Laser (the only one in the store at the time), and he hangs out with the other corys , seems quite content. I'll keep trying to get more of the same, but often the stores just don't carry them. I checked out that aquabid photo, can you believe it went for $85!!! Carol, your kids are lovely!

A question for Butterfly, of the Lasers which do you find more striking, the Orange or Green Lasers? I have not seen them in person enough that I could say for sure.

Thanks

I personally like the orange lasers. The green seem to me to be closer in looks to the green Aeneus just brighter.

Thanks, I may indeed have a green, as I got to thinking about it more. I was looking on the internet yesterday, and saw more of them. The one I got here in AK was VERY expensive, and I am tempted to get some through the mail. They would go so well in my 125 with the black substrait.
Currently I have three cories in there, the 'green', and two little ones, I don't know the name of....This is very frustrating for me, there are so many I can't tell by the pictures ..........oh well there are some things that just don't matter that much as long as they are happy.

The Essig really helped me out when I couldn't recognize what cory species I had. You might want to pm him/her (don't know, actually : )?

I find that planet catfish can be really really helpful too, for Cory recognition.
