Optimal Temperature for Cherry Shrimp?

I am in the process of transferring some Neocaridina's (Blue Velvets, or sort of) from my 23-gallon community tank to a new, 5.5-gallon tank I am setting up. A fancier thermostat I was hoping to use in the new tank failed. So, now, I have a simple, preset thermostat in that 5.5-gallon tank, and the temperature is 74 F (with some upward fluctuations, it seems -- like 74.5 F).

Would 74 F be too high for breeding? I read that 72 F is the optimal temp for Neocaridina shrimp, though I don't know whether that is correct.

Any insight will be very much appreciated!

74°F should be fine.

I’ve got cherry shrimp. I find they breed in 82 or higher. Lowered the temp in my 15 to 78 and breeding stoped.

WOW that's really surprising. I was told (by the owner of a LFS who allegedly is very competent, to keep the temperature low.

Weird that I’ve had the exact opposite experience. I don’t have temp control in the room my red cherry shrimp are in, and their tank is unheated. Once we get to 80°F in the summer, no more fry. Then when the weather breaks and things drop back to the 70°s, they breed like crazy.

74 is not to high. In fact in my opinion higher temps up to 80 degrees will encourage breeding.

I've only been keeping them for a short time, but everything I've read says that they will breed faster at higher temperatures, but it also shortens their lifespans.

Yeah. I don't think 74 will make a big difference though. I think if you want to breed them higher temps aren't bad, but if you want to keep them as pets maybe lower temperatures are better. I think 74 is a good medium though.

My tank is 75 year round and I always have babies in my tank.

They breed faster in higher temps but they also die faster too.
Edit: My bad, didn't see that JettsPapa already said it.

I would keep them at whatever temp is the easiest for you to maintain consistently. Based on the experience shared they can be maintained from the low 70's to the low 80's successfully. Maybe keep them at the temp you have your home set at, if its in these ranges?
