Hi all,

so im in the process of building a pond. It is 3/4ths of the way finished. it is going to hold about 243 gallons according to the dimensions and calculations.
My main priority with this pond was to put in it my pleco that is now 11 inches.

However, my aunt ended up buying a yellow belly slider for my niece and nephew. after a few weeks they realized they didn't have their work cut out for them and asked me to take it in. I did. It is about 4 inches wide right now and is being kept in a spare 55 gallon tank with feeder goldfish and guppies.

i didnt wnat this tank set up i only did it for the turtle now.

The turtle is going to get much larger and should probably be housed in the pond.

is there any way i can keep the turtle and pleco together?
maybe theres a way i can make a divider for the pond and house the two?
any nice tank mate ideas for yellow bellied sliders?
i have dojo loaches in a 55 gallon tank right now with the pleco that i think would look beautiful in the pond as well but im not sure if these can all work?

let me know your opinions thank you.

Pleco should be fine. Never seen the sliders go for the bigger fish at the lake

It should be fine. If anything it might just try and nip the Plecos fins

Plecos chill at the bottom, right? Unless it’s an adult snapping turtle, I wouldn’t worry. That slider will chill at the surface.
