I am upgrading to a 20 gallon long. I will be putting 1 betta 4 mystery snails and 6 Glowlight tetras in there. I already know I'm adding 2 more glowlight tetras.
Which would be better for a 20 gallon long:

1 x Betta [Male]
4 x Mystery Snail
8 x Glowlight Tetra
6 x SterbaI Cory

OR

1 x Betta [Male]
4 x Mystery Snail
8 x Glowlight Tetra
8 x Rummynose Tetra

I know bettas can sometimes be stressed out by multiple schools of free swimmers if the tank is smaller, but sterbaI corys get a bit bigger. Either one is part of my long term goal 40 gallon tank. So I'd be happy with either, just want to find the best fit.

Option 2 seems better because you would have fish on all levels but either is nice

If it were my tank I’d do the Cory option. It’ll give you action at all levels of the tank and you won’t have two schools of tetras. Which IMO is 2 too many for a 20 long

I feel pretty well stocked and a 20 long is better for a tetra school than a 20 high. I do think that 2 is a bit much so I’ll go with the sterbaI cory instead of rummynose until I get to my 40g
