Oops - Get A 2nd Convict Cichlid?

Well I have 3 fish in my tank
Convict cichlid
Severum
Jack Dempsey

This is a 75 gallon tank with 2 filters . This tank has with slightly planted. The Jack dempsey was the only fish I planned on getting he was there and at 3in now at 5


I got the convict since she had severe fin nipping. She is doing better and her colors definitely improved was at 1/2in not at 2 almost 2 3/4

Then the Severum was more of a pity thing
He was in the tank with a red devil and I was like that's not safe so I just bought him/her immediately. He/she was about 2in now its
About the same size of the convict just plumper



But my question is will I have to buy a 2nd convict cichlid. The tank is fine and they don't harass each other the Jack dempsey kinda just stays in the cave. The Severum hands in the Amazon swords. The convict just kinda wanders around. I do 50% water changes So should I get a 2nd one and should it be male or female

 

If you buy a second convict and they are a pair then they will become VERY aggressive towards all your other fish. Convicts will do fine on their own and I wouldn't get another one unless you are looking to breed, in which case they are more prolific than rabbits.

And depending on how much of a push over your Dempsey and severum decide to be, they may tear into the convicts if they start acting territorial and aggressive.

That's possible the Jack demosey rules the tank definelty. The Severum is a lot calmer though
