Oops And Then There Were 3....

Crowntail male, is he a black orchid? His analfins have spots as a pattern
His black body has silverish and in some lights yellowish through it

Thinking of a Japanese name since Niko and Kaido accidently started that theme
Thinking of :
“Taji” which is Japanese for “silver and yellow”
“Raiden” which means god of thunder
Any ideas?

 

Gorgeous! And yes he looks like a black orchid. I got one that looks almost exactly like him from petsmart last week - also an “oops” betta!

I really shouldn’t have.... I’m still doing fish in cycles in my 2x 5.5gallons for nico and Kaido. The new guy will be a 3rd fish in cycle so I’m not making this easy on myself

The new guy is in my old 2.5gallon right now with heater but no filter ( I have to order my filters so will take about 5 days to arrive )

And names - you think “Taji” rhymes with car tea and means silver and yellow
“Raiden” means god of thunder or
“Denki” which means electricity
“Denji” he who has electromagnetic powers
“Kage” means shadow
“Teii” means throne (since he’s a CROWNtail )
“Kaisen” means battle or circuit (thinking along the lines of ‘short circuit’

“Koda” is another Japanese name I like , it means ‘blessed rice paddy’ or ‘lucky rice paddy’ depending on the symbols used
I think that is pretty cool since they live in teh rice paddies in Thailand
