Only Place I Knew To Put This.

So, me, a crazy 16 year old, is on craigslist, and what do I see? A 250 gallon with stand, for $260. How am I supposed to convince my parents that this is something to buy? (reluctant to let me get a 20 long). I could pay for half of it, and christmas is coming up...
But where could it be stored until then? Any ideas on how to convince them?

250 gallons + stand for 260? That is a great deal; of course if it is real. You could convince them by presenting a breeding project plan which would pay for the costs and make more I guess. That's what I did.

Hmm... breeding sounds awful and a ton of work. Exactly what I wanted! There are a lot of fish in the sea/pet store, what do you recommend?

I hate to say it, but that seems too good to be true (sorry... I for one would LOVE that price if it were a good, solid tank, that could hold water... but I doubt this is. Is it a diy tank?)

Did they give an explanation for the price being low? Moving, diy, etc?

Moving. I have my doubts too! I actually think they added a 0 by accident, b/c does this really look like a 250?Supposedly the stand was 600.

Well then, that changes everything. How do I present this to them, etc. Breeding would be a good way to make some money, and I could pay them back over time. I would just need permission, and a truck. Maybe also some seed money or something.

As a major deal hunter, something is up. Either it's just the tank and stand, in which case you have to buy the filters and heaters, or there is something wrong with the tank. I'd check it out, but something seems fishy. (Pun intended)

Can you ask them if it holds water?
And if it comes with heater/filter/lights ect.

When you add that plus substance plus decorations it's gonna be ALOT more then 250$.

At the same time, not a lot of people want a tank that size and it's a beast to move. It might be legit but check seals for sure.

Good luck! And definitely let us know what happens. I'm very curious...

No brainer, buy it. As long there is no cracked glass. If it leaks reseal it. Resale value is enough to convince parents to buy.
