Only half of 12" airstone bubbling

Umm, why is this? Is it too big for the pump? I can't remember the type of pump I have, but the airstone didn't list any requirements.

Sometimes it just takes time to break it in. I've had this happen before. (not in an aquarium, but the same type of setup)

Do you have anything else on the pump? If so, can you cut some of the air going to something else?
Most of the big airstones say to soak them for a couple of hours before attaching to the air. If you just hooked it up, give it time, it may still start bubbling.
Also, check the level. If one end is higher, it won't make it to the low end. Good luck.

It should be level, and it's been a few days. If it was going to, wouldn't it have by now?
There's nothing else hooked to it.

I've never had one take that long to start up.
I suppose it's possible that there's some flaw in the stone halfway through that is impeding the flow of air.
I don't know, though.
