One of my Nerite Snails lost his door!

Hi, all. Just a little bit ago, I was looking in my tank and I noticed one of my 4 nerite snails was floating around. I picked him up and looked at him, and I noticed his door was gone! the snail still seems to be in there. Now he's lying motionless on the gravel while the other 3 are racing around like champs.

So what's going on? Do you think he's dead/dying? I changed 50% of the water after I noticed him, was that a mistake? Any help would be appreciated.

I didn't think that nerites had opercula. Are you sure that the others have one?

[Sorry that the photos aren't super great!]

I did the smell test and the snail smelled like rotten fish. Like, really rotten fish. Probably one of the worst things I've ever smelled.

I don't think that's a nerite. Looks more like a Mystery snail.

If it smells that bad it's almost certainly dead. Sorry

Ah well. These things happen, I guess.
