One Of Mine Died Can You Help Me Save The Other?

Hello everyone. I just officially joined this forum last night and some of you may have read my welcome post but I had one shubunkin(Durian) and one comet(Daniel) in a 55 gal tank with one snail(Dave). A little later after I joined last night, I noticed Durian was a bit slugish but a lot of things cause that so I couldn't really say anything about it. That was about 11 pm last night. I got up around 7 am to get ready for work and saw that Durian has red around where his fins attach to his body(ALL the fins) and had one bloody spot in each eye. Keep in mind, I've only had him since Saturday night and it was this morning(Tuesday) that he was this bad. I couldn't really do anything about it since I had work but Daniel was his usual self, swimming fine and eating like normal. I believe it was septicemia. I would just like some confirmation so I know what I have to do to try and save Daniel before he gets bad as well. I have attached a picture of some medicine I had picked up before and want to know if you think it will help get rid of the bacteria so that Daniel can still be saved. I am not going to be home until around 5:30 tonight(currently 2 in my timezone) so I can't check the water right now but Sunday was the last time I checked it and ammonia and nitrite were both at 0 while nitrate was at around 15. So I don't think the water quality was a problem. I also would like to ask if it can affect other animals/plants in the tank because I want to know if I should be concerned about my snail or not. Thank you

Unfortunately I don't. I'll take some when I get home after work.

So this is what he looked like when I got home. I see it looks like he had ich(there are a few white spots) but they weren't there last night. You can't see very well(taking pictures of him was hard because I had no help to hold the top up, hold him in place, and take pictures) but there are little blood spots on just about every fin where it attaches to his body. The eyes are what get me. I don't really know what happened there. There was a red streak in his tail, but I don't see it anymore? But he has been dead for about 7 hours now. I will have to keep watch on Daniel to see if he gets ich as well and treat him for that but what else do you think could've happened to make Durian die? There are only about 4 spots of ich on his body so I don't think that was the cause by any means. He was never flashing or anything of that nature. I'm just stumped.

Gypsy13 hope you don't mine me calling you in, the blood spots in the eyes stand out.
Emily, do you know your ammonia, nitrite and nitrate parameters?
I would go ahead and start with a 50% water change if you can, any water change really, and don't forget the dechlorinator.
We'll try our best on our end for your guy

Ammonia and Nitrite were at 0 and nitrates were below 5 ppm. I measured last night and wrote it down because I was very tired, that's why I'm posting them up now

Those are great parameters!
My best guess would be some sort of internal bacterial infection, but again, I'm not the best at this. Probably gram negative instead of gram positive, but medications like Kanaplex take care of both.
DoubleDutch what do you think?

Okay, so my still living comet, Daniel, in currently in quarantine but I currently do not have a filter in there with him(I have been checking parameters twice a day to make sure they are okay and changing water when needed) but my question is, since I don't want to stress him out way too much with all the fluctuations, I have 3 options. I can either put in a new filter that's not seeded, put in the filter from the main tank that could be contaminated though if I'm medicating Daniel I think it should be fine? Or I can just keep it without a filter and watch the levels very closely. What do you think would be the best course of action in this case? I started him on an all-remedy from marineland, should I keep him on that?

Go ahead and keep him on it, and you can move the seeded filter over. Since he was already in constant contact with the filter, water, and other one, there isn't going to be anything in it that he wasn't already exposed to.

Thank you so much you're making me feel so much more confident that I'll be able to keep Daniel alive

Goldfish are incredibly hardy, watch for any signs of darkening of the fins, lips, and redness under scales.
In three weeks if there aren't any symptoms I would say you're in the clear!

Yeah this morning he seemed pretty bad (lethargic and would spit out food) but I felt in the QT and the water was FREEZING (usually in my main tank the water was around 74° constantly so I didn't have to worry) so I put a heater in and he seems fine now. I think he will be okay~ Thank you so much for your help and support!

No problem, and goldfish actually do well in temps 65-75, and a little bit of wiggle room either way. Fingers crossed for you!
