would it mess up my systems if I switched two tanks to one local filter ??

I wouldn't recommend the same filter for two independent tanks. The only reason being if there's an outbreak in one of them then the other one gets infected as well, you won't be able to medicate one without effecting the other.
How big are the two tanks, you might need a fairly large sized filter to compensate for the bioload for two tanks.

Welcome to Fishlore.
While it is possible to have a centralized filtration system, there are many reasons to have filtration on each tank independent. The most important ones listed above.
Is there a reason you want to centralize your filtration? How many tanks are you running?

two 29 gallon tanks I'm planing to set up a 10 gallon refugium with filter media and plants and I thought it would be adaquit filtration for bout tanks
plus the hob filters I have where eating my fry and I put pantyhose over the intakes but the intake keeps getting clogged by plants so I figured this would be a good alternative

If this is your first refugium/sump, you might also find the technical aspects of managing water flow to and from 2 tanks a bit more challenging. Then again, you might not.
Another thing: if there's a mechanical failure (bad plumbing, for example) it could affect both tanks instead of one. Same thing for heater malfunctions.
I recommend the Fluval prefilter sponge for HOB intake covers, by the way.

I'm going to run heaters in the tanks them selfs and in the refugium ind in plotting two overflows in each tanks in-case any draining issues arise that way one stops draining thers a back up plus this will help keep up with high flow in-case the overflow has issue handling water flow
what are you thoughts ?

the main issue I can think of is "will it mess up the cycle in my two tanks??

When you set this up, if you don't use the cycled filter media from BOTH tanks, you'll probably experience a mini-cycle (or worse) until the new media cycles.

so ill want to cycle the ten gallon with the media from both tanks before set up? what about adding water from both tanks with media how long should I let it cycle before set up?

It does sound like placing a sponge over your intake instead of pantyhose would be a much cheaper and easier solution.

tryed that and it was a no go completely choked out the filter all I need to get the refugen going is some silicon and my spar

what keeps clogging the filter? I don't know your setup but it could be as easy as feeding less

Yeah something doesn't sound right if a sponge is quickly getting clogged. There would have to be a lot of debris in the water to do that.
