One glass catfish hangs out by itself?

I have a 125G freshwater tank with 8 clown fish, 2 Cory cats , 2 angelfish, 8 rummynose tetras, 3 platys, 1 gold gourami, and 4 glass catfish. I’ve had glass cats for several years and they’ve always hung tight together, however this group, I’ve had for over a year. What is strange to me is that one of them (the same one) hangs out by itself all the time, 24/7. I feel sad for it,wondering if he has been kicked out of the group, or if it is by choice. Anyone ever encounter this? I think if I get a few more, he may still hang by himself.

Ummm my first question is how do you have clownfish in a freshwater tank? since this is a 125, I would get a bunch for 10+ corys and glass catfish.

Clown fish like the saltwater fish in a freshwater aquarium?
Getting more glass cats might help or getting more hiding spots.

Mizzom s aquarium details say 8 clown loaches.

I had someone tell me once that if a fish is unhealthy or different in some way, the school may not school with it and get kicked out as you said. Purely anecdotal evidence, but I had this happen with one of my cherry barbs, and a month or so later he died of no apparent cause. It could be a number of things, or nothing at all though!

I'm fascinated by the presence of clown fish in freshwater but I must be missing something. With the glass cats, it's possible you have a 3:1 ratio either male or female and the odd one out feels pressured. I have some Otto's in a group of 4 and I'm pretty sure that's the situation I'm up against as well. All seem healthy so maybe ones just different.

Clown loaches, I assume.

Maybe the glass cats would benefit from an additional 3 or so?

Yes, i had some angelfish in the past that totally shunned a particular angelfish, to the point that It died. . Thankfully, these fish have been in my tank for over a year, and a beautiful and healthy. I just think he may be lonely. There is a whole lot of plants and things in the tank and they are at opposite ends of the tank. I think I may pick up a few more to quarantine and then see what happens when they are introduced to the big tank.

Yes, I agree. Thanks.

Clown fish! Clown loaches, but they do act like clowns all the time. I’ll pick up three more when I can. You know, I wonder if the odd fish out is a male, and the other three are a male hogging two females? I find that with my platys going on right now.

I have a group of six Glass Cats, they split up in many different arrangements. I wouldn’t be able to tell you one in particular was always anyplace though because aside from a couple that are noticeably smaller? They look identical. Could you be seeing a couple of different ones at the same location?

I wouldn’t have less than 6,
