On/off solenoid for rodi

HI all. Has anyone used one of these 24v solenoid valve to control their water flow? I just purchased one and installed it. It works... But makes a very loud buzzing noise... Is it suppose to make that noise? Sounds like the valve is opening and closing very very fast.

I have a solenoid on my pressurized Co2 system and have noticed that it makes a buzzing sound. So I assume that its normal if both of our solenoids are making that sound. Ive never tried one of these on a RO/DI system before. Are you using it so that the system only makes water at certain times of the day?

p.s. please fill in your aquarium information. It does really apply to this post but in the future it really helps other members troubleshoot if they can see what kind of tanks and equipment and stock your are currently running. Welcome to Fishlore!

Thanks for the reply. I have a 75 gallon with 30 gallon sump. I have the Ro/dI hooked up directly to a float valve in my sump. I wanted to use this valve on a timer. I have it set so it's only on for 30 min everyday to do the top off. I was expecting more of a click when it turns on. And another click when it shuts the water off

This is a normal sound from solenoids. You can wrap the solenoid using a foam type insulation tape to dampen the noise.
