My daughter found these for me at the beach by our local river. If I were to clean these up (how?) Could I put them in my tank with mollies and cories OR in a tank with snails and betta? She got them for me hoping I could put them in the sandy area of my tank where my cories play.

I believe boiling or hot water will be enough, yes. Over time they can add calcium to the water and thus raise pH, but 4 shells aren't a big deal. Just don't add a bucketful or something.

Would they be better in the tank with snails for calcium?

What size are the shells? Put them where you like.
They are tiny about the size of my thumb nail

They aren't going to affect much of anything. Just make sure they are boiled and really clean.
