Old Frozen Food

midna

I have some frozen foods (mysis shrimp, spirulina brine shrimp) that are over a year old. they haven't passed their expiration date but they have freezer burn/ice crystals and such. they're portioned into cubes sealed with foil so it's not like they're being exposed to air or anything. I only have 3 bettas (soon to be 4) and I rotate foods so unfortunately this stuff doesn't get eaten quickly.

is it bad in any way that i'm feeding them "old" frozen food? should I just bite the bullet and buy them some fresher stuff? does anyone else do this?

Its fine. My bloodworms are about a yr old now too and I still use them. I buy 500g once a yr live and just wrap them up in plastic wrap to freeze them for my fish.

I bought frozen bloodworms three years ago and just recently finished the package, they are completely fine.
