Okay, Where In The Flibbertigibbet Can I Get A Milligram Scale?!

Other than online, where can I get one? At the least it has to measure grams to the thousandths place. I very much need one today to measure out Levamisole for my Archer, I don't want him to have to wait any longer. Does anyone here have a place where they specifically got theirs?

Okay, so it's clear I'm not finding one tonight. I can get both of these scales by tomorrow. Which one do you recommend?

I personally would buy the cheaper one, not only for the price but also due to it having a max at 50 gallon (instead of 20g) so also could be useful for other issues that require a larger quantity.

The grocery store probably. Lots of people weigh their food. Also, try walmart in the travel section and sporting goods. And also grocery.

That's what I was thinking, too as J was mulling over it, thank you for your input. It's sad that I couldn't get any of this locally and I keep getting delayed. *shakes head*. Hopefully my boy will be okay. I know he was being a drama queen as usual during my cleaning (I was more worried about accidentally squishing my out-of-site inverts than his behavior, because I've become used to his "Mom I'm dying look how pitiful I am, don't you just want to stop and watch tv?" routine (Omg my fish is an enabler! xD)) I hate seeing that/those thing/s hanging out if him and dread what they are doing to his insides...it's been such a struggle to get a hold of everything, aND I feel like I kerp messing up. ); I wish I had known my scale didn't measure mgs, that I feel like is most on me, but my sister has been using it to weigh her bird, and then she killed the batteries and my dad didn't get the batteries she was asking for it for like one-two weeks, and NO ONE could tell me in the house what it did (not even my mom whom it belongs to, I never have really touched it, personally), and with no way of checking... );

Yes, I have a 5G, and the safe dose is 2ppm, my dosage should be anywhere from 38-45 mg any higher would be unsafe.

Your link says to go to Charles Harrison if you have questions ..He is my source of info !
Treating Your water with Levamisole
Camallanus Treatment - Use of Levamisole HCl
Your link also says levamisole has been MASSIVELY overdosed for a long time without much issue ?
I would use 1/2 gram and feel safe and correct in doing so.

Assuming you have a kitchen scale that can weigh out grams, temporarily, you could put 1 gram into a 5 gallon bucket, fill it with water, dump half. Now your water has 500mg in it. Top it back off, mix, dump half again, and now your bucket has 250mg. You see where I'm going with this.

As I said before, though, that is WAY too much! D;

I have inverts to look after, too, and 2ppm was the advice I was given by someone who has successfully beat it. I don't want to kill any of my babies, I want to get this right.

I think you misunderstood me.

1) put 1 gallon in a bucket/cup/whatever. Fill with water. Dump half. You now have 500mg of Levamisole in the cup.
2) Top the cup off again, then dump half again. You now have 250mg.
3) Repeat. You now have 125mg
4) Repeat. You now have 62.5mg
5) Top it off, dump out a little less than half. This leaves you around 40mg left in the cup.

Again, this isn't the best method, but it will get you through the night if you have no other way while you wait for one you ordered to arrive.

Why don't you just use the method that's given in the article? The one where they mention taking a quarter teaspoon scoop and divide it evenly?

So instead of cutting a quarter teaspoon into 10 pieces, cut it into 20. Or take a 1/8 tsp and cut it into 10 pieces.

(I think I did that math right. Zzz...)

Oh oh, I get it, I'm sorry, I saw just "g" instead of "mg" I think too, I get it, sorry, Iwas a little overwhelmed by a few things, and didn't read thoroughly. Thank you, this is a pretty good idea and I might implementit if I feel he looks bad. He's still eating and passing stool, though *knock on wood* so maybe if my package comes in the noontime. With certain things, like medication, I'm very literal, and it's just ingrained in me to follow exact dosage (I've had to take medication my whole life). So my abundance logic and innovation are buried under my stress and that kind of blinders mode that goes with everything.
I am really worried about him, he just ate, but I think he's starting to feel it. Thank you very much.

Yeah and I used his calculator, because the math was different from what I got originally (which was 38 mg not 45 mg, and it gave me 38mg). I just don't feel good about od-ing, I'm glad it worked in your favor, but what if it shocks him or my shrimp? The highest I'm willing to go is 45 mgs, otherwise I feel likes it's overkill.

But now I don't know! I was so certain of what I had to dose, I've been preparing for this the last few days as I waited anxiously for the meds, so now I don't know what! I've had my other post asking about dosages and was very kindly guided for all that time, now that I posted a related post asking simply about the device measure it now I'm getting all this conflicting advice, like ALL OF THE INTERNET. I have ONE FISH, I just want him to live! And now I'm doubting the dose I thought was right will work, but I might kill the whole tank if I use the other.

If it makes you feel any better, I used more than the recommend dose on my 20 gallon with guppies and ghost shrimp. I didn't have any pet deaths.

It does a little bit, but what of assassin snails?

The parasites are only in the fish, right? Just move all the shrimp and snails to another container with an airstone.

One time I was treating with a copper based medication and I put a bunch of ghost shrimp in a minnow bucket... And forgot about them. They were completely fine. But I don't recommend forgetting about them

I'm sorry everyone if I come off as sounding rude or hostile, by the way, I appreciate the help, really. I'm just really scared. I'm scared to mess up. He's been such a happy little guy and he seems less happy today, that's upsetting me. And it doesn't help something else was going on on another thread and work, and ugh everything. I've had such a bad time with mixed information, too.

Oh. My. God. He's a brat, he just wanted a different show put on, but I apparently didn't change it to the right one (because that's the firest thing I tried to do bease I'mused to him pouting). I was so keyed up from everything that transpired today, though, and so freaked out and unsure of and down on myself, that I just thought maybe he was starting to feel it. Apparently, not, I go to get changed, my mom comes down to put on the show we were going to watch while eating, AND LOOK WHO'S ALL PERKED UP. Punk watched me cry.

There is no other adequate container and no airstone, I'd rather treat everyone just in case, especially since eggs could be transfered to the second container regardless. My snails just got acclimated, they're peppy and happy now (well one is peppier than the other).

If I had to choose betwixt the two you linked I'd get the JamBer .001 x 50g. But I've been using this for six months now and wouldn't trade it.

I placed the order for the Jam, I keep wondering about getting lab spatulas, but if I'm think between the scale and Levamisole that I'm probably already on a watchlist. XD
