We went overboard this year. We catered to every whI'm of our kids list and then some....
We got our older son 2 wiI games, a movie, spiderman transformer, a nerf gun that shoots 25 rounds in so many seconds (it has a belt thing that looks like a machine gun, and it has a tripod) all I can say is I feel sorry for his little brother lol, a few "ben 10" toys, and there are a few others that I can't even remember.
Our younger son got a tent w/ one of those tubes he can crawl through, a firetruck that is about 3 feet long, a fish puzzle (its one of those Melissa and Doug wooden gifts that help teach colors), a v-smile (ok that one is a re-run that he never saw and his brother played with twice its still brand new so we are going to put it out with the "santa" gifts), 2 v-smile games (nemo and blues clues), a wallie toy, and there are also things on his list that I can't remember that we bought.

I think they will have a blast on Christmas!!

One thing I want to do is take them to midnite Mass this year, I am a non-practicing Catholic that is married to a Baptist and I really want to show them what Christmas is about this year. I don't even think my husband can argue with that.

lol, for ages 3 and 6 mine are spoiled as well. What we got them is just a start to the madness, the grandparents always go completly overboard on Christmas. My husband and I are only children and grandchildren so grandparents and great grandparents only have my 2 to buy for. I might as well shake a toys r us out into my house each year.
I know my mom went crazy this year, she owns a resturant now and her income has been the best since my dad passed in the 90's (he was a coal miner of 25 years if that says anything, I was always super spoiled on Christmas) When I was 16 I got a mustang and that was my second car. Shes been dying to over-do it for the boys. She has already warned me about the stuff she bought them so I didn't get the same stuff.

Wow, those kids are lucky. I am a kid, so I don't know what I got, but my grandparents do the same as you mom, SteveAngela1, except they go out and but weird things that no one wants, like a new toothbrush and odd stuff from craft fairs. Last year I got a tea pot shaped like a basset hound. I don't even drink tea...

Every year I say I'm going to scale back... Once again... I didn't.

They are getting a 16 gallon aquarium. This will be our first one so I'm super excited to set it up.

DS is way into Thomas the Tank Engine so he's getting just about every Thomas DVD and playset that I could find on the internet.

DD wants everything she sees on TV but is into Princesses and other girly stuff so she's getting lots of Barbie and Princess stuff. I got her an MP3 player, and a ton of board games and puzzles.

I can't wait for them to open everything up. :;rudolph

And I thought my kids were spoiled!

My 3 year old has both her birthday and Christmas in the month of December, so I suppose it is somewhat of a free for all month. I usually choose a monetary amount, and not spend over that limit - for her birthday, I spent about $150 and for Christmas, $250-$300 - this is including both toys and clothing (preschoolers don't care about receiving clothing at this point). Our 7 month old is, well, an infant and can't really appreciate the whole toy crazyness thing - he's getting a few baby toys, and some clothing. Like he cares - he'll spend most of Christmas trying to eat the wrapping paper!

She isn't getting anything huge this year, but last year she got a top of the line plastic kitchen

I went out and bought more gifts today, this time for the animals, my dog a chewy stuffed cat, the cat some catnip toys, and I couldn't think of anything to get patch (my one eyed toad) so I gave him his weekly feeding of crickets tonight early and doubled the crickets (hes been looking slI'm lately). The sw fish got ro/dI water (will be continued as I find it much better for them than the distilled) the cichilds will get a big bloodworm meal tomm and zuchinnI (I couldn't think of anything they needed, after all I have about 75 cichlid mouths to feed (just a gross estimate of adults and fry prob closer to 100's)

I won't put on here what I got Steve, he might scan my post to look for clues lol.

My stepdads birthday is in Dec as well, he always get the double gifts.
Your lucky w/ your 3 year old not being into clothes, omg! my 3 year old boy is crazy about clothes, the other day he had to pick his own shoes out when we were shopping for shoes for him, he picks his clothes out when he changes and will even tell me "no that's bye bye" if I pick out a good shirt for him around the house. He insist on getting out of pj's first thing in the morning, and changing at least 3 times during the day.

My best friend (She's gonna be a member here soon) has one Christian parent and one Jewish parent, and her birthday is Christmas Eve (today!!) so she has like two solid weeks of gift-giving. It's annoying, because I have to buy her like three presents, plus get her some sort of souvenir from out annual 'after Christmas' vacation. But I guess she's worth it...

Our family is quite large, so we don't really individual gift anymore. It would be way to time consuming and expensive. We do family gifts - Usually goodies such as baked goods (one sister makes a mean pumpkin roll and another does a great cherry cobbler). And of course the homemade cookies, candies, calendar (from another sister and her family) and family pics from other get togethers throughout the year (from another sister). I don't have any kids of my own, but I help Mom with the cracker sox for all the grand kids and the chilI for our Christmas Day. We have our big family dinner at Thanksgiving (so many people we set up tables on the carport and eat outside) so Christmas is more of a come by when you can and have a bowl of chilI and some homemade breadsticks and visit. We had 48 people through our house today (all family, but not all of the family). Nice rainy day so we had a fire in the fireplace and people were sitting around and visiting. It was really nice. They have all gone now, so it is nap time!
