Ok to put betta in new setup with cycled filter?

You're darn right that is not an ugly lady! She is breathtaking!

 

Sometimes other fish pick me, but bettas are the ones that make it obvious they want you.

 

That is indeed a lovely female and an unusual one but the thing is the females can be stunning. I had a red Cambodian (this one was solid red).

They are just like kids..I mean take a look at Jaggers home...He loves Martinis like his Mommy so he asked for a MartinI glass in his room lololol...

YES! It is a martinI glass in his tank! And he sleeps in it at night...

 

Well it gets him closer to the surface so he doesn't have so far to swim to take a breath.

She was a beauty, for sure.

Well she was no Prissy, but she was a monster fish! She killed every creature ever put in with her. (female bettas, otos, cories, snails) She eventually got so rambunctuous one night she dived out a very small hole in the back of the tank and died on the floor behind the tank stand. I did not hear her go as it was during the night and it took me a long time to find her. She was a demon female and I was almost afraid of her.

I actually have a "Martini" theme in my home...I'll have to share some of my stuff one day

well the neighbor is going on vacation on Tuesday and wants to pick the new baby herself if there is going to be one, AND wants to be home the first few days, so my nice neighbor may have to wait on the baby till I get back.

maybe he could seed the tank for me until then....

thanks for educating him, so all I have to do is Pick the colors I like and love it and name it, and he can do the rest.

oh, and can you PLEASE TELL MY NEIGHBOR to not STARVE my GOLDFISH while i'm gone. remind him please to feed them, (as much as mommie would) while i'm gone and not to put them on diets...tell him goldfish are supposed to kinda be shaped like eggs....x

well "neighbor" we will do our best to keep the goldfish happy with reminders have a safe trip!!

we got a cute little 3 gallon tank, do we need a heater????


also, the lady in the fish store said put a mirror in there for him. is that OK?? she said put a clean old compact mirror in there and he would fluff up when he sees himself. the mirror I have is lie a 3" foldover mirror (never had make up in it, was my old travel mirror) but the mirror is a magnifed mirror. is that ok or will that freak him out????

Yes, he does need a heater. I mirror? What was that lady thinking? That would cause him to flare too much and cause too much stress.

I keep my boys tanks at 78-80...The mirror will stress him out...They are not supposed to be flaring constantly...

What color is he?

I think the reason she said to put the mirror was because people think that bettas spreading their fins and gills is pretty, not knowing that it is aggressive and stresses the fish...
