Some of you already saw the pics of my grey longhair, Grey Ghost. Those that haven't just go to the aquarium of the month and check out my picture. I'm NOT saying vote for it, that's breaking the rules, just check out my big fat cat.
Anyway, last year he found me in my backyard (yes, I said he found me, not the other way around), and lead me to phantom, his brother. Lucky for phantom, he wouldn't have survived the night. Phantom is the first kitten I ever fed with an eye dropper. He wayed 3 ounces and could fit into the palm of my hand. Now both of them are over 10 pounds and doing great!
Anyway, I had to share some of these pics with you all... you'll love them!

he was so sick... I really didn't think he would make it. But he turned out to be one tough kitten! The one thing I really noticed is he would NEVER lie down! He would only lean against his brother. I think somehow he knew he wouldn't get back up. Like I said, one TOUGH kitten!

Yes those that start out hard do turn out to be tough but the most loving.

I think one of the most fascinating things about them is how Grey took care of Phantom... he never was more than 4 feet away at any time! And they're still inseparable to this day!

Hey Jim, how are you doing? Your kitties are so beautiful - and what a story to go with the pictures . I am so happy they found you, survived, and are doing so well . The black one really did look so poorly - and now, what a change. Well, that's what happens when orhpaned/stray kittens find loving and caring owners . I'm pretty much convinced in most of such cases it is the love of the owner and the animal's will to live, that make them survive. In many cases they're so sick and yet they somwhow manage to pull through. Once again, am very happy for you and your kitties. How old are they now? What are their names? Both are males, right?

Actually we have 4 right now... 3 are rescued and 1 was a parking lot kitten. That one, Stardust, is 9 and the matriarch. Phantom and Grey, the boys in the pics, are now 3. And Luna, a fat little tiger that found her way under our neighbors toolshed, is almost 2. Besides for them and my fish, we also have an 8 year old rescued rabbit named Cadbury. She was a pet store rabbit that either got out or was let go (never did find out what happened), and I caught her in our back yard with a laundry basket on Easter day, hence the name Cadbury (after the candy easter rabbit eggs... get it?)

Actually I was kinda mad. Cadbury is a large fat white rabbit with some black markings. DEFINITLY a pet store rabbit, not a wild brown rabbit. So either someone was careless and lost her, or they bought her for Easter and then decided they didn't want her and let her go. Either way, we have big hawks and buzzards that would gladly feast on fat rabbit. And she wouldn't have stood a chance, she's totally tame! Seriously, I caught her in a laundry basket! She was wandering the back yard eating grass, and it only took about half an hour following her around before she let me close enough to simply drop it over her head. And she just sat there munching on grass. Definitly a pet store rabbit.
So anyway, here it is like 8 years later or something like that and she's still fat and lazy in a nice huge rabbit hutch I built her. I'll take a pic of her later today for all of you.

Sounds like a lovely rabbit . I'd be happy if I found one just like that! You're lucky . Thanks God nothing happened to it while wandering around like that. And yup, pictures would be great!
