Oh The Temptation - Potential 75g Build

So, Petsmart has 75 gallon Marineland with glass canopy, cheap LED light I’ll likely just sell as I want to go high tech, and cheap stand which I would need to strongly rework. I can’t believe they sell it like this. The front and back are only supported in the corners and middle. The length between the corner and middle is just floating. Scary.

So, $299 right now for all that. Well, they just emailed me a 20% off all coupon. I’ve read the fine print like 5x. There is zero way I can see I can’t use this coupon. I was there yesterday too killing time as my work had to service my computer. I think they had a Fluval FX6 for $295. It isn’t on their website at that price but I thought “Wow, FX6 under $300.”

Coupon is only good for 2 days. Need to think fast.

Cons.
Stand is near garbage. I’ll likely spend another $30 supporting it
FX6 is way overkill. Wonder if to much. I want to do Amazon River Scape for this. FX4 would be better but I didn’t see it.
I’m going to remodel some of my kitchen soon so I’d likely have to wait to set up tank until that is done. Guess that leaves lots of time for shopping for decor/wood and a CO2 system.
While this is “cheap”, I’ll be spending a lot more on everything else. I’d want to get a brute trash can for water and a dolly for example to prep my RODI. I’d need to buy the auto shutoff for my RODI too as I’d be prepping a lot more than the 10 gallon I do now for my smaller tank.
It isn’t the nicest tank but if I eventually sell it won’t be a high loss like with a higher end tank.

The tank setup with tax would be <$260
If I get the FX6, another $260. Wish they had a deal on the FX4. I could always return the FX6 if I change my mine I suppose.

What to do?!?!?!?!
Appreciate thought and advice (and nudges).

I say, GET IT! Who doesn't like coupons and another tank? As long as you can financially handle it, why not? If you remodel your kitchen then that definitely leaves time to spread out other purchases for setting it up that way you're not spending all your money at once

This sounds like to good a deal to pass up. I say go for it. If you don't I have a feeling you are going to regret it

I've been eyeing up that same deal. The construction of the tank and stand worries me though. But- and I am being dead serious here- I cannot find a SINGLE 75 gallon aquarium being sold within a 50 mile radius from me, other than this specific one. I may just end up asking the local saltwater store to order a 75 gal for me from their suppliers.

The stand is a joke. I’m going to give it a very good look over again and see how easy it would be to get it stronger. Maybe this deal isn’t that good after all on the tank.
