Today while I was at PetCo to buy Prime... I noticed that the large (probably 75 gal) goldfish display was a tiny bit cloudy (bacteria bloom/minI cycle)...
The store manager and the aquatics "expert" were standing in front of it while I lurked around and looked at the fish (as I always do even though I basically refuse to buy fish from PetCo from my own paranoia. No offence at all to people who do purchase the fish, I just can't).
I over-heard the manager asking "what can we do about this cloudy tank" and I heard the other younger gentleman say "well, the tank is cycled, and when we added so many fish it started a mini-cycle, there isn't anything we can do right now."
Which in turn the manager proceeded to argue with him on how he needs to flush the tank and blah blah...
I almost stepped in to defend the poor guy, someone who actually KNEW about CYCLING and was trying to explain it was being told he was basically stupid and wrong...
Why he didn't just add the TSS when all the fish were added to prevent a minI cycle is beyond me
But the one person I've heard at a PetCo who knew what they were doing and actually argued with their MANAGER over the well-being of the fish, I commend.
You go, PetCo worker, you go.
