Got it with a fun little snow storm this morning. Not a lot of snow, but wet and heavy. Did a number on my maple tree.

This is only about half of what ended up falling off, I wouldn't go out for more pics because didn't really feel like having stuff fall on me. Still have a power/cable line draped over my truck hood and roof.

I am so not ready for it yet! Glad you didn’t stay out and get attacked by a falling tree

The kids tried making a snowman early on but one almost got hit by a falling branch. Made them come in after that

It looks good in a postcard, but it also means the temperature is near freezing. That would mean I have to put on shoes and long pants.

Personally, I prefer hurricanes over snow....strange thing!

I know this has nothing to do with snow, but this post just made me realize how many Floridian fishlorians there are. Someone should do a poll about state/province/country and see where the majority of fishlorians are located.

Someone needs to make a thread where you name as many members as you can from your state/province (e.g. If you are located in California, try to name Californian members), and If you are outside of U.S., canada, and U.K., name as many members from your country.
Personally, I prefer hurricanes over snow....strange thing!
I love when the rain slams down on your windows but in a calming way. Then you can just lay in your bed and fall asleep. One of the only times when you can hear something over your fan and your aquarium filter.

I remember that. We evacutaed (can't spell) to Valdosta Georgia and some really nice guys picked us up and took us to live with them for a week. They were really nice, they gave us food and we hung out and had a cookout. Awesome. If it weren't for them we would have been living in the car in a walmart parking lot for 5 days Luckily the only damage we had was a fallen palm that was already unstable and ready to fall.

Me too it's easier to cool off then to warm up. To many years of sitting in rice paddies and swamps duck hunting. And way to many years of diving for a living.

Only a week Dawn, when Charlie came through Punta Gorda in '05 my parents didn't get power back until 2 weeks after I left. I was down there a solid week helping them and the neighbors clean up. Thank god the boats where still operational so we had A/C to sleep in at night. Lunch was followed by a quick dip in one of the pools that was super chlorinated until the filtration system was able to come on line. The problem in snow country Those temperatures are there for months at a time.

I have been through several hurricanes(most on an island)and Lord knows how many blizzards....snow and ice on the roads makes driving such a JOY after you already frozen from clearing off the truck before you can even get the door open lol!!

But, since I am nowhere near an ocean, I have to settle for snow and tornadoes....

I'm in Colorado, so I'm pretty close to you in Nebraska! We got snow ALL day and it just stopped a few hours ago. I went outside and froze to death

I'm heading to Florida for the week though!

To be honest, we haven't had much snow at all last few years. The kids were excited!!

In Alberta it was snowing in early Septemeber. We have had snow in our area for every month but July.

I wish it would snow good down here in Texas!
It doesn’t always snow, but when it does, I make the most of the .25” that we do get.

I have only seen snow like..once in my life, and that was when I took a vacation to the Smokey Mountains. I would LOVE it if Florida got snow. Don't get wrong, beaches, rain, diving, our Florida man memes, and stuff are fun and nice. But we have two seasons. Summer and slightly cooler summer. I could still wear shorts and a tshirt in some parts of December and January lol.
Snow is just beautiful, it's so fresh and soft and I love the sound it makes when you walk on it. I wish I could live somewhere that actually had seasons lol.

I much prefer snow over the dog days of summer. Heat makes me want to stay home and sleep. In contrast, I have so much energy in winter.

British Columbia & east coast = All rain
Prairies = Storms and snow.
We get at least a couple tornado warnings every year, and then snowfall warnings! Dont like the weather in alberta, wait 15mins.

Now see, I am the opposite...winter just makes me want to sleep and play video games. Summer, I am always GOGOGO!! Baseball, fixing stuff, fishing, etc...almost all outdoors stuff

I’m pretty outdoorsy myself, especially fishing. But you know what ruins summer for me are the tourists!

Living where I live I've had to come to terms with tourists. They are here year round. Except during the mud seasons in october and in may when everyone leaves. That's my favorite time of year here.

I'm in MI and pretty surprised we haven't gotten snow yet, but our weather is way off from normal. A couple weeks ago my fiance had a facebook memory pop up of our daughter in the first leaf pile of the year last year. We only JUST put together the tiniest first leaf pile of the season for this year over the weekend. Most of the trees are still green, and it was 80 last week. Usually by the beginning of October we at least have threats of snow, if not the real thing. Our normal seasons are "almost winter", "winter", "still winter", and "construction". lol

haha. I grew up in Clare MI and that sounds about right. I remember crazy winters there as a kid. The lack of sunshine in Michigan got to me.

The tourist killed me when I worked in Louisiana and traveled back to P'cola for the weekend. Starting around collage spring break all the way to past Labor Day, sometimes that 3 hr drive took 6-7 hrs.

I grew up in Midland, so I know the crazy winters you're talking about. Now they're all over the place and nothing like when I was a kid. The lack of sun definitely gets to me too, and I look forward to moving someday. Maybe that's why I love summer so much!

That must have been a shock to the system going from Midland to Michigan. I know I'm looking at Wichita Falls here in a few years, that's about as far north as I want to live. After about 30 years of living in Florida and HawaiI primarily my old bones don't take 40 degree weather very well without a rifle or shotgun in hand.

It's Midland, MI, which is right next door to Claire, MI that toeknee mentioned. Are you thinking of Midland, TX? I'm not that old, but my body hates anything outside of a pretty neutral temperature zone. Too cold and I shiver like crazy, too hot and I melt. lol Feels like waaaaay too early menopause!

Snow melted rather quickly. Had to help a buddy today cut down his weeping williw tree, as it was utterly destroyed from the same snow. 3 interviews over the next 2 days almost feels like a break!!
