Nursing Betta Back To Health

So, funny enough, I accidentally ordered a betta to be shipped to me (USA) from Thailand. Don't ask me how it happened, I have no idea. But the point is, I'm happy to have him. He's a gorgeous HM Dumbo.

Unfortunately, he came extremely stressed! I spent about 2 hours acclimating him to a 5.5 gallon tank (several months old with good water quality). He's been lying at the bottom of the tank, breathing heavily, for about 24 hours now

Any ideas on how to nurse this little guy back to health? I'm worried!

Thanks! I'll try to pick up some stress coat + today and hopefully that'll work. The tank is planted with hiding spots and has indian almond leaves already. Keeping my fingers crossed!

My sister had a halfmoon and was lethargic all the time. He bit his fins because they were dragging him to the bottom

 

Update: He's doing better but still not quite there yet. I saw him swimming around a little bit this morning. Man, is he majestic! I'll post pictures when he's out again. Hasn't eaten though, which means it's been several days since he was initially shipped. I tried to entice him with some garlic soaked brine shrimp this morning but that was a no-go. We'll see...
For now, I'm leaving the lights off to help him feel at home. Maybe I'll add another almond leaf too.
