75 Gallon Tank Numbers seem off

Ok. I literally put water in the 75 gallon. I used seachem prime to dechlorinate the water. I used a cap and a half. It said one cap for 50 gallons, so half a cap should do 25 gallons. I did some research and now know 7.5mL is the correct dosage for my tank. I do have 5mL syringes, so next time it will be more accurate. I tested the water parameters today. I am completely confused because according to the test I have nitrates already. I attached a photo of the results. Ammonia .25, Nitrite 1.0, Nitrate 10. I am wondering how I have nitrates so quickly. I have not added any fish or anything that would be creating a bioload. Anyone know how this possible? I’ve never used seachem prime, could this be the cause?
i was testing the water because I was going to see if microbacter tank starter by brightwell aquatics would speed up the process. I have not put any of it in the tank yet. I was testing today and then going to put it in tank and test in a couple of days.

Did you do a test on your tap water to see if there are any in it. Always a good idea to test tap to know what’s being added at each WC. Be sure to beat the out of your nitrate test bottles to make sure the chemicals are being mixed up as well. They can give false reading.

As carsonsgjs and kallililly1973 pointed out you may have both nitrites and nitrates in your tap water. It is always a good idea to run all the test on the water we are going to put in our takes so we have a baseline number to start out with. I feel sure the Prime had nothing to do with the reading you are seeing.

I do nit believe there are nitrates or nitrites in tap. This is my third tank and I never had those show up after just 24 hours. I did beat the bottle against my palm for the 30 seconds, so I do not think it was a false reading. I appreciate the advice and will go ahead and test tap water and post those readings. Thanks!

Ok guys, I took the advice and tested tap water. Ammonia looks to be at about .25, Nitrite about .50, and Nitrate about 5-10. Since it does appear that nitrates nitrites are in the tap water…. What do I do now?
I will continue to check 75 gallon every two days. But if my tap has the stuff how will I know if the tank is cycled and safe for fish and snails? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
