What do you feed your fish/inverts? Do you have a planted tank? I would start with 25 or 30% WCs every other day until your water looks better. You might need to start doing WCs twice a week if you have a large bioload too.

I have 2 albino shark catfish, 2 silver dollars, 2 Cory cats and 2 pleco so can't have planted tank cause it all gets eat. Have lost fish out of this tank when changed from 55 gal. to a 75 that was a nightmare. Have found out about letting it set up for a couple of weeks before fish but to late. Was wondering if all the bacteria is gone now from the tea tree oil? What do you think?

Depending on the size of some of the above like your albino sharks and plecos that could be a pretty heavy bioload, especially since larger plecos produce so much waste. I would recommend doing every other day WCs at least until your water improves but don't do more than 30% at a time unless your ammonia or nitrites are super high. I would probably also start doing them 2x per week after that.
Tea Tree Oil can definitely kill your healthy bacteria or at least stall out your cycle a bit. It really depends on how long/how much you dosed the tank. If your parameters are off I would recommend maybe adding some bottled bacteria (controversial, I know) just to increase the cycling bacteria in your tank.

tee tree oil straight up? Or Mellafix?
I have never noticed a change in my cycle after using melafix and I don't see how it could effect the bacteria. But I have never done scientific tests for it either.
Melafix can not kill the bacteria that cause actual fin rot.
Can you list the symptons that your fish are experiancing?
Remind us what your current stocking is?
Can you tell us the results of tests for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate?

They are getting too big and you're right about the waste amounts everything was fine till I got the new tank and it all went bad. I also have well water and have only had ph problems before this. The fish had fin problems (silver dollars) and pop eye in the sharks the melafex is what I used for 5 days and the fish are fine just cloudy tank now I think it could need some good bacteria built back up thanks so much for your info and help. Am going to have to give them away because they are about 10 inches now. Just want them to be OK first. They eat flakes algae tabs and shrimp pellets, and they are growing fast the tank is just cloudy now. Have done water changes about 25% each week maybe to much change at once with filters changed also. I did learn to watch how much you change at one time.

API Melafix will not adversely affect the biological filter, alter the pH, or discolor water. It is safe for use in freshwater, saltwater, and reef aquariums, and in aquariums with live plants.

This is straight from their site.

Used the melafex or what ever it is called ( I have went nutty with these fish lately) fish are healthy now just cloudy tank. May need good bacteria back in it. Thank you for any help you may have.

Thanks for the info and help am going to see if its not enough good bacteria cause changing to new tank 75 gallon started all of this. Should have done more reading on new tanks and starting them out. Have a koi pond outside and just dug out 15x20 and put in water and fish have had it for 10 + years and no problems. Guess the tanks are different but I learning with all the help on here and all the nice people trying to teach me something I thank you all.
