Not Sure If I Should Treat Or Not

HI guys! Sorry I've been posting so many threads about the same thing recently, but my fish was being treated for dropsy. After vacations, the pineconing had certainly gone down, and although he looks almost normal now, I can stops see some bumpiness on his body. Do you guys think I should use Kanaplex to be safe? I wanted to resume salt baths at least and was goin to medicate, but if it's not necessary I don't want to medicate or stress him out. At the same time, I don't want a chance of him not being cured when I could have, and getting really sick. Should I use Kanaplex, and should I continue salt baths?

I would continue both for another week just to certainly cure him. What temperature is the tank at?

Alright! I think he's also ripping his fins (or it's finrot), so I was planning to do daily water changes from today onwards, but would that affect the medication? My tank is set at 80°F.

What size is the tank? Picture of the tank would help. Temperature is perfect.

And yes doing daily water changes will get rid of the medicine so just wait until treatment is over

Kanaplex is good! Don't forget Epsom salt and peas!

Unfortunately, I don't have any frozen peas, but I'll try to get them! The tank is the fluval 5 gallon. I've have an algae problem since after vacation that I'm taking care of right now.

Try getting 3 snails to 1. Clean the tank and 2. Possibly keep the Betta entertained.

Don't they sometimes climb up the walls and fall onto their backs and die? I have wanted one though...

No, my snails will go to the very top sometimes the lid and drop back down to the bottom in my 10 gallon and they are fine.

You can also get a bright silk plant or two and move those around. Also get or make like a little hoop that he can swim through. My Betta that I have used to bite his fins SO BAD and glass surf 24/7 then I got three BRIGHT silk plants and I move them around daily, I added 2 snails, and two little hoops to his tank and he stopped completely and his fins are starting to grow back. So if it is fin bitting (I think so) then this will fix it

That sounds like a good idea! It would be fun to teach tricks. He had two silk plants in there before, but they grew algae like crazy so I switched to live and stopped using lights.

If you get 3 mystery snails (the larger the better) then you will have NO algae. I have a Betta that will jump out of the water the eat a bloodworm. He is a delta Betta, it amazes me how smart fish can be. Ito clean the tank all you have to do is use a sponge but I would leave one of the walls alone for them to eat it. If they don’t eat algae on the plants you can just scrub them under warm water.

Yeah, I totally agree that betta fish are way smarter than I expected! Sorry this is getting away from the actual fish, but I was thinking maybe 2 ramshorn because the mystery snails are so big (haha my betta is super small for some reason so a 2 inch mystery snail would almost be as big as him) and I am also pretty interested in shrimp. Do you have to do gravel vacs with snails and shrimp? I also wanted them from a better line so they're less fragile. Either way, I have to wait until I'm sure my betta doesn't have dropsy though.
