Would like to attend this but it's about it's close to 50 miles away. Not sure I want to transit fish that far... BUT, out of curiosity, what kinds of things are available? Tanks? Equipment? From your experience, what are the prices like on plants when compared to most LFS or online retailers?

Everything Fish related. Come on Down. 50 miles that's nothing, people come from as far away as Michigan, PA and Cinnci., the fish will be fine. Quality, Quality, Quality remember these are hobbyist buying and selling from hobbyist. Prices unbeatable.

Do they ever have cherry shrimp at these auctions??

Yes, they do. That's where I picked up my starter colony. Normally, they sell at around $10 to $15 for a dozen or more. There are 2 auctions coming up in Nov.
