Normal For Java Fern?

Is this normal for Java Fern? When I first got the plant it had brown spots like you see on the leaf in the background then it started growing out the root looking things.

Those are the beginning of baby plants! Those are their roots forming. Little leaves should be close behind.

Mine [crested] has smaller rootlets than that but that's how mine start. Mine reproduce so much that I have run out of tanks to put them in, I hate to through them away but I have no room for them anymore.

Ok thanks I thought it was something like that but my wife started getting me paranoid asking weird questions about it.

This is a really bad picture, I'll get a better one once I'm home tonight, but if you look at the top right side you can see the top half of the biggest leaf on my java fern mat is covered in new plants.
