hi all,

ive got a coralife fixture (20inch) and one of the 4 fans is VERY noisy... the fixture is hardly a week old and this has been a problem from the get go. any suggestions on what i can do to fix it? (other than resting a hockey puck on top of it as i have been). im not sure if the case is rattling or some bearings are messed up.

also, does anyone know if these fans can be replaced (say with a computer fan?)

thanks,

cicatriz

I'd bring it back and exchange it if possible.

it seems ironic that after all the haggling (over price matching policy) i had to do to get this fixture at a decent price that the lamp would be defective...

So was it the lamp or the motor? If it was the lamp, sometimes the ballast in a fluorescent lamp could be defective or old and buzz....

it seems to have quieted down, adding legs has helped... i think it was a combination of the fixture and the far left fan. i will continue to monitor it and see how things go.
