No Seeded Filter For Quarantine

Needle nose gar I ordered showed up. I didn't plan on quarantining them.
I have a brand new 10 gallon I can set up real quick but I don't have a filter that's seeded. Just run it with a new filter anyways?

 

Use some media from your 180?

 

I would do a partial media swap. Take some media from your bigger tank, put new media in its place. Put used media into new 10 gallon filter.

I have.

I basically took the whole blue cartridge holder out, and the cartridge. Got an aquaclear sponge and cut it thinner to fit into the bottom of the quiteflow. Then threw a small bag of biorings on top of that. Ran it that way until a damaged cord made me switch to an aquaclear. I left the front blue sponge holder and little sponge on the quietflow.
