no co2 floating plants?

Are there any floating plants that have extremely long, tough roots that can survive with no co2 injection and have aquarium light within 3" of it?

I'm trying to find something that can grow along the back of my aquarium that will help in getting the back to look like a river bank. Already planning on using limestone and truck trunks.

I don't think any floating plants need co2 injection because they draw it from the air. I don't know about the lighting, but dwarf water lettuce has some absolutely gorgeous roots. It seems a bit difficult to find though.
