I have plants in my tank right now while it's cycling. My question is: will decaying plants help feed the B.B.? It looks like one of my crypt plants and some of the wisteria, both bought last week, are experiencing some melt right now.

Any rotting material will produce some amount of ammonia, so yes.

It will technically produce ammonia so it will help. How much ammonia it produces and therefore is the help really noticeable is a different question.
