On a side note if you plan on spending longer in china then come earlier don't stay later. Chinese national week starts Oct 1st and it will be ****. Everyone travels do a google search of chinese traffic jams and its like that everyday for a week.

Also make sure you download a vpn before you come to china. Most social media sites are blocked including messenger sites and apps won't work on your phone without a vpn.

Not me, I wish I could but I start work tomorrow and the students start class on friday.
Also ill be hiding from sept 29 until 0ct 7, its one week I won't go anywhere.
The Last time I went out during national week a 1hr drive took 4hrs because of the traffic and that was the weekend before it all started9.

I don't know about CIPS but the chinese national week is the only time everyone has a holiday and travels so there 1 billion people travelling around so it gets pretty bad.

Also the best way for you to stay in contact with your family is if you all download wechat on your phone. Its a chinese messenger service that you can use to do video calls and send messages. Free wifI is pretty much everywhere in china and is usually pretty good. Any western sites or apps can get blocked for no reason for a few days, there's evem been a few times fishlore was. so I wouldnt rely on them to keep in contact with family.

Some highlights of my trip to China, Guangzhou at CIPS 2018. This trip was unbelievable, amazing. I can't describe it with words. Met so many aquascapers that I admire. I learned a lot, live scaped for the first time and had so much fun. I had the chance to go to this contest because I ranked 69 in the medium / big category and was first of my country The Netherlands with my forest aquascape. Also in the nano tank category I was rank 30 with my forest aquarium. My rank in the livescaping was 20 out of 25. Thank you CFAA, CIAC and CIPS for the this beautiful experience!

 

Glad you enjoyed your trip to china. Pity I couldnt get any time off work to get down there and see what it was like.

How did you go with the food and the baijiu.

One day ive got to get one of those gorgeous rimless tanks and try my hands at scaping. Something about them makes them look much larger than they are.

Wraithen han aquatics sells the landen rimless, buce plant sells the UNS rimless...

Biggest word of caution... once you get a rimless, it’s hard not to change everything over!
